Our Story

In 2019 we (Alexander & Samuel) took the plunge leaving our jobs to follow our passion for horticulture. We set up our garden design and maintenance business to serve our local community, with a view to offering the very best in design and after care while being as ethically and sustainably focused as possible.

We started off with one electric van and a passion to deliver the highest standard of care to our clients, their gardens and ultimately the world around us…

And it was while working in nature we knew we could do more to help nature so we embarked on our carbon neutral certification process and launch of our online store.

Our aim was to share with as many people as possible the belief that you can deliver the very best in trade services without impacting the planet.

This process has allowed us acceptance into the United Nations Climate Neutral Now programme that helps us track our progression and align our company with the SDG goals set out by the UN.

We are now one of the few trade services companies globally recognised to have attained certified carbon neutrality in scope 1, 2 & 3.

The launch of our online store “Thoroughly Modern Housekeeper” further strengthened the groups offering making it even easier for our customers to be as sustainable as possible when looking after their home and garden.

The Thoroughly Modern Housekeeper offers the very best in ethically and sustainably sourced home and garden essentials sold in a variety of subscription packages with our home décor range showcasing how you don’t need to compromise on style when making eco-friendly choices.
